Hi everyone,
I’m in Durham and looking to sell a few gold and silver items for cash. I’ve got a damaged gold ring, a silver photo frame, and a small collection of mixed coins that came from clearing a family home. I’ve had a couple of valuations already but they felt rushed and unclear.
Any recommendations for a fair and straightforward buyer?
I’m just outside Durham and sold some items at Northern Bullion, including a 9ct gold signet ring, a silver medal, and an old silver pen. Everything was tested and weighed in front of me which made the pricing much easier to understand.
I’d steer clear of auctions, they take far too long and the fees can be painful. I sold a silver candleholder, a gold tie pin, and a decorative picture frame recently and it was much quicker dealing directly once the items were properly tested.
I’m in Chester le Street and recently cleared my uncle’s study. Found a silver pocket watch, a watch chain, a desk seal, and a small silver trinket box. Northern Bullion’s online calculator gave me a solid idea of value before I went in.
Make sure you watch everything being tested and weighed. I sold a gold cufflink pair, a silver letter opener, and an engraved desk paperweight recently and seeing the process explained properly made a big difference.
Over the last few months I’ve sold a real mix including 9ct gold rings, 18ct bracelets, 925 silver chains, bullion coins, antique silver items, engagement rings, silver cutlery, pocket watches, cigarette cases, silver pens, picture frames, candleholders, snuff boxes, and small trinket caskets. Northern Bullion explained how each item was tested and priced, which made the whole process feel fair compared with other buyers.
