Hi everyone,
I’m in North Shields and looking to sell some gold and silver jewellery for cash. I’ve got a broken 9ct gold bracelet, a couple of silver coins, and an old diamond ring that was inherited from a relative. I checked a few local places but the offers seemed quite low.
Can anyone recommend the best place nearby to sell gold and silver fairly?
I’m in Tynemouth and had a similar experience with scrap gold and broken jewellery. I ended up going to Northern Bullion and found them much more transparent than local shops, with everything tested and weighed in front of me so I knew exactly what cash I’d get.
I’d avoid auctions if you can — they take ages and the fees are high. I sold some old gold chains, silver jewellery, and coins locally instead, and it was much quicker once everything had been properly tested and weighed.
I’m in Whitley Bay and recently cleared my late grandmother’s house, which turned up a mix of gold jewellery, silver items, and a diamond ring. Northern Bullion’s online calculator gave me a rough idea of value beforehand, and the final offer was very close to what I expected.
Don’t just accept the first price you’re offered. I sold broken gold, scrap jewellery, and a few silver coins recently, and the difference between buyers was bigger than I thought. Watching the gold and silver being tested properly made a huge difference.
I’ve sold quite a mix recently, including 9ct gold, 18ct pieces, 925 silver chains, coins, bullion, antique silver items, engagement rings, and silver cutlery, and Northern Bullion explained how everything was tested, weighed, and valued so the cash offer felt clear and fair compared with other buyers.
