Hoarded House Clearance Case Study In Norwich:

Hi, A few years ago my husband passed away, I have been unable to part with any of his belongings and have since accumulated a lot of clutter. I am requiring a complete house clearance so that I can have a fresh start.

My home is a small two bedroom flat in the Norwich area, though it is small, it is extremely cluttered with junk and rubbish.

It may take more than one day to undertake the job, and I would appreciate it if you could collect the keys from my neighbour as I am embarrassed to be present.

I will leave a list of everything I want to stay (maybe a bed, not a huge amount).

Please confirm that this is something you can do, I will be staying with a relative whilst you undergo the work.

Thank you, Heather.

Hoarded House Clearance Case Study In Norwich Continued:

We arranged to have a team of five of our specialists undergo the house clearance for heather.

The team arrived at 9am on the day of the appointment to collect the keys to the property from the neighbour.

They began by clearing the hallway first, most rooms were inaccessible due to the piled high rubbish throughout the hallways, blocking access to certain rooms.

Once the hallway was completely clear, the team moved onto clearing the living room, this room is where heather had been living due to her bedroom being in-accessible, most of the furniture had been covered with clutter and rubbish.

The team worked from heathers list, leaving books, the television, a shelving unit and an armchair situated in the living room, the rest of the rubbish went to recycling and some stuff we were able to donate to charity on heathers behalf.

Following from the living room, the team moved onto a small kitchen, all appliances were to be removed due to electrical issues leaving the food to rot inside the fridge and freezer, the washing machine and other small appliances were also removed due to a build up of grime and food waste. All kitchen cupboards and drawers were cleared of all food, crockery etc, the Lino on the floor was also removed.

The team split into two teams to clear the two bedrooms last, working from heathers list they left the beds and wardrobes remaining, along with heathers jewellery and paperwork that they were able to find amongst the rubbish.

The team finished the whole clearance by 5pm, leaving only the things that heather wanted to keep.

They returned the keys to the neighbour, send photographs of the now empty property to heather to make sure she was satisfied with the work carried out.
